The Greater Kansas City (GKC) Post of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) is pleased to invite you to participate in our 10th Annual Industry Day Education & Training Workshop. This year’s event will be held at the University of Missouri – Kansas City (UMKC) Union on March 26-27, 2018. Event attendees are responsible for making their own travel arrangements. Below are hotel, rental car and airport information.

Limited conference rate rooms are available until no later than FEB 25th for $149.00 at Sheraton Suites Country Club Plaza. You may also call central reservations at 800-325-3535.

The complimentary hotel shuttle makes ONLY one trip to and from the event daily.  Please plan accordingly.  Shuttle Schedule is:

Shipping for the Event
Below is the information you should include on each shipment:

NOTE:  Deliver to dock area

Any exhibitor who plans to ship materials should make sure they are received at UMKC by Friday, March 23rd. Please note that the booth spaces are limited to 10x10.  Larger booths will not be allowed as they result in overcrowding of the exhibit hall.

Please bring your own extension cords/power strips if you need power. All the booths against the walls should have outlet access but need the cords/strips in case they can’t reach the nearest outlet on the wall. Other booths will have floor power access but should come prepared with the cords they need to reach. The Student Union will not have any cords available for exhibitors to use, but they will help us to tape down anything on the floor.

Also, come prepared with shipping labels and arrange pickup with your shipping company for the return shipment of your booths at the end of the conference.  Student Union staff will be available to coordinate delivery back to the dock area.

Social Events

Ice-Breaker
The event kickoff will be held on Monday, March 26th in the Exhibit Hall from 5-8pm. The event is free to conference registrants. Additional guests are welcome to attend but must be registered.

Social Event
The Evening Social will be held on Tuesday, March 27th at BRIO on the Plaza (502 Nichols Drive, Kansas City, MO) from 5-8pm. Directions and a site map can be found on their website.

IMPORTANT NOTICE IF YOU ARE ATTENDING THIS EVENT: Since this event is being held in a federal building, additional screening may be required if you are using a driver's license from a state that is not compliant with the Real ID. If you plan to utilize a for mentioned driver's license as your identification, please be aware that you will need to arrive early to complete the screening process to enter the building. A passport will make it easier to maneuver the screening process.
