Dear High School Counselor:
The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) offers engineering and construction summer camps for high school students that are interested in pursuing a degree in engineering or associated fields. These camps are hosted by the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) Camp at Colorado Springs, CO, U.S. Air Force Camp at Scott Air Force Base IL, the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) Camp at Camp Lejeune, NC, the U.S. Army Camp at Vicksburg, MS, and the US Navy Camp at Port Hueneme, CA.
The Arkansas Post of SAME is pleased to announce the availability of sponsorships for these camps. One student may be competitively selected for each camp. The Arkansas Post will pay all of the camp fees and all of the students’ airfare and other transportation costs. Information, eligibility, and the application process for these camps can be found on the SAME website. The application process is online and all students will be applying through this portal. They will first create a Camper Account and then they will register for the particular camp that they are interested in attending. As part of the process, they will pick the Post that they wish to sponsor them (designate the Arkansas Post). In addition to the SAME eligibility requirements, the Arkansas Post requires any student to be at least 15 years old prior to the first day of travel. The camps have different application deadlines, so pay close attention to those dates and make sure your application is submitted before the deadline.
SAME Engineering & Construction Camps
The Arkansas Post of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) offers engineering and construction summer camps for high school students that are interested in pursuing a degree in engineering or associated fields. These camps are hosted by the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) Camp at Colorado Spring, CO, the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) Camp at Camp Lejeune, NC and the SAME/U.S. Army Camp at Vicksburg, MS.
The availability of sponsorships for each of the following camps is available each year in June and July.
Communities of Interest
SAME’s Communities of Interest offer members a chance to engage nationally with other professionals focused on a particular technical field or demographic within joint engineering and the A/E/C industry.
