Scholarship

Scholarship Purpose: To encourage and assist qualified students who wish to pursue a college education in the field of engineering, architecture, mathematics, computer science, or related field so that they, in turn, might further the mission, vision, and values of SAME.

Terms: Scholarships are for academic year 2024– 2025. The scholarship must be used during the 2024 – 2025 academic year. Any excess must be returned to the Society of American Military Engineers Campbell Field Chapter.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • A dependent of an active duty, reserve duty, military retired or active society member of the Campbell Chapter. Active member is defined as being a current member (at the time of the application) who has held current membership for one continuous year or more; to include dependent of employee of a current SAME Campbell Chapter sustaining member firm; or employee of current sustaining member firm.
  • Be a college student (undergraduate or graduate) or graduating high school senior.
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.0 (B) on a 4.0 scale.
  • Accepted by or attending an accredited college or university studying engineering (ABET), architecture, mathematics, computer science or related fields of study.

Selection Criteria:

  • Graduating high school applicants: SAT or ACT test results.
  • Grade point average.
  • Recommendation by advisor and/or instructor.
  • Required major in architecture, engineering, mathematics, computer science or related field.
  • Evidence of serious scholastic attitude, good character, leadership qualities, and well-rounded personal development.
  • Preference to students with military aspirations as exemplified by enrollment in Officer Training program or previous military service.
  • Studies, activities, and work that represent SAME’s mission, vision, and values.

2024 Schedule:

March 1 – May 31: Applications accepted.

Late June – mid-July: Notification of awards to scholarship recipients.

Late July – mid – August: Distribution of scholarship funds (directly to university).

The Application:

The application package including transcripts, two reference forms, and SAT/ACT results (if you are a H.S. senior) must be complete and be postmarked by May 31, 2024 for the application to be considered. Send completed application packages to:
