WHERE: ECPI University, 3800 Paramount Drive, North Charleston, SC 29405

WHAT: Featuring Ed Sutton: Combat Pilot, State Senator, and Charleston Leader

Join us for a powerful, behind-the-scenes account of one of the most pivotal moments in recent U.S. military history.

In August 2021, Ed Sutton piloted one of the final C-17s out of Kabul during the last week of the U.S. evacuation, marking the dramatic close to America’s 20-year war in Afghanistan. Now a South Carolina State Senator, decorated veteran, and Charleston small business owner, Ed brings that same clarity, courage, and commitment to public service here at home.

At this month’s meeting, Ed will share lessons in leadership under pressure, the real story of the final military flight from Hamid Karzai International Airport, and how his military and business experience shapes his mission in the South Carolina Senate. You don’t want to miss this firsthand perspective from a pilot, patriot, and principled leader.

SPEAKER: SC State Senator Ed Sutton
Ed Sutton is a small business owner, decorated veteran, and devoted Lowcountry family man. As the State Senator for District 20, Ed brings a deep commitment to public service, principled leadership, and a tireless work ethic to every challenge he takes on.

BIO

Ed Sutton is a decorated Air Force veteran, small business owner, and State Senator for South Carolina’s District 20. A proud Citadel graduate and C-17 pilot with multiple combat deployments, Ed continues to serve in the Air Force Reserves.

In 2015, Ed launched a commercial real estate business specializing in rehabilitating historic structures and brokering spaces for small businesses. His preservation work has earned multiple Carolopolis Awards, and he’s played a key role in revitalizing underserved corridors in North Charleston by helping local entrepreneurs put down roots and thrive.

In the Senate, Ed champions bipartisan, common-sense reforms, helping lower insurance premiums for small businesses, especially restaurants and passing legislation to recruit and retain educators. A devoted husband and father of two, Ed is guided by a belief in service over politics and a commitment to the Charleston area.
