SPEAKER: Edward (Butch) Weber, P.E.
Butch Weber is the Vice President of Engineering and Facilities for the South Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA), overseeing the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of port facilities statewide. With extensive experience across multiple engineering disciplines and construction types, he plays a key role in shaping the infrastructure that supports South Carolina’s global trade.

Mr. Weber moved to Charleston in 2007 as a consultant team member hired by the SCPA to manage the construction contracts related to the Hugh Leatherman Terminal (HLT) construction program.  In 2014 he became the deputy program manager for the SCPA’s Engineering program. In 2016 Mr. Weber was hired directly by SCPA as an engineering project manager and in November 2024 he was promoted to his current role of Vice President. Throughout his involvement with SCPA, as both a consultant and employee, he successfully managed the planning, design, and construction of many of the Port’s current and future facilities.

Before relocating to Charleston, Mr. Weber worked in Florida as both a contractor and consultant on heavy civil and marine construction projects including interstate construction, local highways, and significant bridges around the state.
