
Huntsville Post Scholarship Announcement
Opportunities Information: 2026 – 2027 School Year
The Huntsville Post is accepting applications for its $7,000, $6,000, $5,000 (2), $4,000 (2), $3,000 (2), $2,000 (3), and $3,000 & $ 4,000 for A&M scholarships for School Year 2026 –2027
The Charles A. Joyner, Jr. Memorial $7,000 Scholarship is designated for a son/daughter, grandson/granddaughter, or stepson/stepdaughter of an active or deceased member of the SAME Huntsville Post or an active student member of the SAME Huntsville Post. The student must also be a full-time college undergraduate majoring in architecture, engineering, construction, mathematics, natural science, technology, computer science, cybersecurity, or other STEM- or AEC-related fields. Students are qualified to be awarded the Charles A. Joyner, Jr. Memorial Scholarship only once.
The William E. Bowers Memorial $6,000 Scholarship is designated for a son/daughter or grandson/granddaughter or stepson/stepdaughter of an active or deceased member of the SAME Huntsville Post or an active student member of the SAME Huntsville Post. The student must also be a full-time college undergraduate majoring in engineering, mathematics, or natural sciences while the scholarship is in effect. Students are qualified
to be awarded the William E. Bowers Memorial Scholarship onlyonce.
The Shearer & Associates Cybersecurity Scholarship of $5,000 is designated for a son/daughter or granddaughter or stepson/stepdaughter of an active or deceased member of the SAME Huntsville Post or an active student member of the SAME Huntsville Post. The student must pursue either a degree in Cybersecurity Engineering or a STEM degree with/ a minor in cybersecurity or computer science. Students must be full-time college undergraduates while the scholarship is in effect.
The Huntsville Post’s $5,000, $4,000 Scholarship, $3,000 Scholarship, and the $2,000 Scholarships are designated for a son/daughter or granddaughter or stepson/stepdaughter of an active or deceased member of the SAME Huntsville Post or an active student member of the SAME Huntsville Post. The student must also be a full-time college undergraduate majoring in engineering, mathematics, or natural sciences while the
scholarship is in effect.
The Huntsville Post’s $4,000 Scholarship and $3,000 Scholarship are designated for the Alabama A&M student chapter. The student must also be a full-time college undergraduate majoring in engineering, mathematics, or natural sciences while the scholarship is in effect.
The application package must be received by April 3, 2026. Electronic applications can be obtained on HERE.

Applicants are encouraged to apply for all scholarships. The Joyner and Bowers Memorial Scholarships can be awarded only once to anyone.
The Huntsville Post Scholarship Chair has the final word on any resolution of issues related to scholarship awards.
