Mission

The SAME NoVA Post Resilience Committee is formed to support SAME goals in resilience in the Northern Virginia region by contributing to government and private sector collaboration to minimize the impacts of and enhance effective response to natural or man-made threats. This goal is accomplished by developing and sustaining programs to enhance emergency preparedness and infrastructure resilience related to water, cybersecurity, energy, and other assets critical to the nation and Northern Virginia. The SAME NoVA Post Resilience Committee engages with federal, state, regional, and local government stakeholders along with public and private industry to assist with disaster responses and emergency preparedness, including establishing relationships between these agencies with NoVA post member companies, local universities, and other key players who can provide support.

Objectives

  • Leverage local and regional stakeholders to provide resiliency/recovery training and awareness to both members and stakeholders with regards to local infrastructure risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Provide joint training and awareness to NoVA post members, and local and regional stakeholders with regards to the efficient development, implementation and use of new and existing technologies that improve infrastructure resilience.
  • Provide joint training and awareness to NoVA post members, and local and regional stakeholders with regards to cybersecurity challenges and solutions.
  • Provide joint training and awareness to NoVA post members, and local and regional stakeholders with regards to water and energy challenges and solutions.
