Kentuckiana Post

Our Mission

Lead collaboration in support of our national security priorities through advancing three strategic goals: Drive Partnerships, Deliver Solutions, and Develop People.

About the Post

SAME builds leaders and leads collaboration among government and industry to develop multidisciplined solutions to national security infrastructure challenges. Founded in 1920, the Society unites public and private sector individuals and organizations from across the architecture, engineering, construction, environmental and facility management, cyber security, project planning, contracting and acquisition, and related disciplines in support of national security.

With a National Office in Alexandria, Va., and 100 Posts around the world, SAME provides its nearly 28,000 members with extensive opportunities for training, education, and professional development through a robust offering of conferences, workshops, networking events, publications, webinars, and other member-driven programs.

The Kentuckiana Post accomplishes this goal locally by supporting monthly luncheon meetings and other professional/social activities attended by members of local government, military, private industry, students and other interested parties. These meetings are announced via our e-mail distribution list and quarterly newsletter. We are supported by the national Society of American Military Engineers and publications such as The Military Engineer, which also promotes the interests and goals of our Society and its members. Please peruse our website to discover the benefits of SAME Kentuckiana Post membership.

SAME SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS

The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) brings together professional engineers and those in engineering related fields such as architecture, planning, and interior design to improve and increase the technical capabilities of the nation. In addition, SAME fosters an environment to exchange and advance the technologies, applications, and practices that support this objective.

Founded in 1920, the Society facilitates interaction between the military and federal government engineers and those in the private sector for the purpose of improving the engineering potential of the United States. SAME is a nonprofit professional association with chapters (posts) worldwide. Today the organization has some 25,000 members from industry, military and government agencies, and academia.

The Kentuckiana Post SAME recognizes that some of our most valuable resources of the future are the students of today. Therefore, the Kentuckiana Post will award multiple $6,000 scholarships this year to students who exemplify the qualities and accomplishments of a promising technical career. High school seniors and college students meeting the criteria are encouraged to apply.

Any questions should be directed to the SAME Scholarship chair – Kristen Crumpton at kristen.crumpton@aecom.com
