Voluntary Covid-19 Vaccination Encouragement
At this time, The Society of American Military Engineers, Hampton Roads Post, is returning to in-person monthly meetings, forums and sessions and is encouraging voluntary Covid-19 vaccination of all members who seek to participate in these in-person events. In accordance with the Commonwealth of Virginia and United States CDC guidelines, SAME seeks to provide and maintain a gathering place and workplace that is free of known hazards and the Hampton Roads Board strongly encourages all members and guests to receive this vaccination to minimize the risk of this infectious disease, especially in light of the new Delta and Lambda variants. This encouragement is in concert with recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Commonwealth of Virginia Covid-19 Task Force and with local Hampton Roads health officials. Members and guests are encouraged to obtain any Covid vaccination wherever they choose.

NEW Organization forming!
Virginia Association of Environmental Professionals (VAEP)
Virginia is home to a significant number of Environmental Professionals that promote well-informed and scientifically sound decision-making. This community includes public and private sector professionals across countless specialties and professions who are critical in the furtherance of our understanding of the environmental, social, and economic impacts of human activities in our society. Their mission is to be an interdisciplinary organization dedicated to developing the highest standards of proficiency in the environmental profession. Their goal is to develop a nonpartisan, non-profit peer group that offers Environmental Professionals throughout the Commonwealth a forum and network focused on issues affecting Virginia.
The Virginia Association of Environmental Professionals (VAEP) will be a subchapter of the National Association of Environmental Professionals (NAEP).
In the coming months, VAEP will host informational meetings to help further articulate the vision of the organization, obtain feedback, and gauge interest. Assuming there is sufficient interest in membership, VAEP will file an application to establish a Chapter under the NAEP, prepare the necessary documents to form the VAEP as a nonstock & nonprofit Virginia entity, and invite individuals to join.
