Boston Post President’s Message

Dear Members of the SAME Boston Post!

I am truly honored and humbled to serve as president of this esteemed organization for the 2024-2025 term and I am looking forward to taking on this prestigious role with great excitement.  I am grateful for the opportunity to continue the excellent work that has been achieved by my predecessors and I can only hope to further add to the strong foundation that has been laid. A special thanks to Debra Beck, our outgoing president, for her leadership, mentorship, friendship, and dedication to the Post.

Throughout my journey as a member of the Boston Post, I have been given the rewarding opportunity to work with a talented, diverse, and dedicated group of professionals who share a common passion and commitment to the mission and values of SAME.  SAME has benefited my journey as an engineer and I plan to assist with continuing to provide our members with the resources and opportunities they need to enhance their skills, expand their networks, and achieve their professional goals. I also look forward to continuing to maintain and further achieve goals set from my predecessors, such as fostering greater collaboration among our members and with other organizations in our field, and continuing to embrace a diverse and inclusive culture throughout our Post.

Since the Boston Post’s establishment in 1923, it has excelled at promoting professional excellence, the exchange of ideas and knowledge sharing, demonstrated resiliency, built stronger partnerships that benefit our industry as a whole, and has adapted with an evolving industry and society.  It is my wish and one of my top priorities as president to continue to evolve the Post so it is longstanding for another 100+ years.  Part of this long-term goal is to promote awareness, collaboration, mentorship, and open communication within our membership. It is my hope that increasing the depth of our knowledge and experiences as well as sharing that knowledge and experience with members and younger generations will increase our Post’s diversity, provide incentive for our members, and provide several opportunities that set the Post up for a long line of succession.

I am committed to working with each and every one of you to achieve this goal, and as we enter the Post’s second century, I am confident that together, we have the skills, expertise, and passion to continue to make a positive impact on industry and society – and have fun doing so. I encourage each of you to get involved, but also speak up – share your ideas and perspectives and collaborate with each other.

Once again, thank you for your trust in me, and I look forward to working with all of you to advance our shared goals and vision for this organization. Thank you!
