The 2026-2027 School Year Scholarship Applications are now open
Huntsville Post Scholarships

The Huntsville Post is accepting applications for its $7000, $6000, $5000, $4000, $3000, $2000, $2000, $2000 and $2000 Scholarships for School Year 2026-2027.
The Charles A. Joyner, Jr. Memorial $7000 Scholarship is designated for a son/daughter or grandson/granddaughter or stepson/stepdaughter of an active or deceased member of the SAME Huntsville Post or an active student member of the SAME Huntsville Post. The student must also be full-time college undergraduate student while scholarship is in effect, majoring in engineering, mathematics, or natural sciences. Students are qualified to be awarded the Charles A. Joyner, Jr. Memorial Scholarship only once.
The William E. Bowers Memorial $6000 Scholarship, is designated for a son/daughter or grandson/granddaughter or stepson/stepdaughter of an active or deceased member of the SAME Huntsville Post or an active student member of the SAME Huntsville Post. The student must also be full-time college undergraduate student while scholarship is in effect, majoring in engineering, mathematics, or natural sciences. Students are qualified to be awarded the William E. Bowers Memorial Scholarship only once.
The Shearer & Associates Cybersecurity Scholarship of $5,000 is designated for a son/daughter or granddaughter or stepson/stepdaughter of an active or deceased member of the SAME Huntsville Post or an active student member of the SAME Huntsville Post. The student must pursue either a degree in Cybersecurity Engineering or a STEM degree with/ a minor in cybersecurity or computer science. Students must be full-time college undergraduates while the scholarship is in effect.
The Huntsville Post’s $5000 Scholarship, $4000 Scholarship, $3000 Scholarship, and the four each $2000 Scholarships are designated for a son/daughter or grandson/granddaughter or stepson/stepdaughter of an active or deceased member of the SAME Huntsville Post or an active student member of the SAME Huntsville Post. The student must also be full-time college undergraduate student while scholarship is in effect.

Applicants are encouraged to apply for any and all scholarships. The Joyner and Bowers Memorial Scholarships can be awarded only once to any one individual. The Huntsville Post Scholarship Chair has the final word on any resolution of issues of award of scholarships.

Bolding Scholarship
Up to two Bolding Scholarship will be awarded, depending on the quality of applications. This is a 2 year scholarship for veterans, children of veterans, or grandchildren of veterans. Up to $30,000 will be awarded in increments with the first increment being $10,000 and future awarded increments are dependent on the execution of the payback that is detailed in the application and application guideline.
