Seattle Post President – Capt. Bob Schlesinger

Capt. Bob Schlesinger, Civil Engineer Corps, U.S. Navy (retired) is the Senior Program Manager for the Naval Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program at Stantec Consulting Services Inc. Prior to Stantec, Bob worked at PRIME AE Group as the head of Federal Business Development and at Michael Baker International in multiple roles including Santa Ana Area Executive, San Diego Office Executive, and Navy Market Leader.

Bob retired from the U.S. Navy in 2009 after 29 years in the Navy’s Civil Engineer Corps. His Navy positions included Commanding Officer of Naval Facilities Engineering Command Northwest (with additional duties as Director, Facilities and Environment for Navy Region Northwest), Director of Facilities and Environment for Navy Installations Command in Washington, DC (with additional duties on the staff of Director, Shore Readiness Division, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations), and Chief of Staff, Navy Region Northwest. Earlier tours included progressively more responsible positions in Silverdale, WA; Washington, DC; Norfolk, VA; Gulfport, MS; Newport, RI; and Rota, Spain.

Bob is a registered professional civil engineer in the states of Washington and Rhode Island, a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design® Accredited Professional for Building Design and Construction, and an Envision Sustainability Professional. He is also Fellow of the Society of American Military Engineers and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and Tau Beta Pi, the National Engineering Honor Society.

Bob has been active in the Seattle Post since his return to the area in 2023.  He previously served on the Seattle Post Board from 2007-2015 and is a past-President of the Seattle Post and a former Regional Vice President for the Northwest Region.  Bob currently serves on the Board of the SAME Foundation. He is also a past President of the Orange County Post and previously served as a SAME National Elected Director.
