Our Mission
Lead collaboration in support of our national security priorities through advancing three strategic goals: Drive Partnerships, Deliver Solutions, and Develop People.
About the Post
The Society of American Military Engineers is the only nonprofit professional engineering education organization that actively promotes the advancement of both individual technical knowledge and the collective engineering capabilities of governments, the uniformed services and private industry. Our goal is to unite public and private sector entities and individuals in the A/E/C fields so that we can prepare for and overcome natural and man made disasters, acts of terrorism and improve security at home and abroad.
The Dallas Post accomplishes this goal locally by supporting monthly luncheon meetings and other professional/social activities attended by members of local government, military, private industry, students and other interested parties. These meetings are announced via our e-mail distribution list and quarterly newsletter. We are supported by the national Society of American Military Engineers and publications such as The Military Engineer, which also promotes the interests and goals of our society and its members. Please peruse our website to discover the benefits of SAME Dallas Post membership.

Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping how transportation agencies plan, operate, and deliver mobility—and TxDOT is no exception. Join us as we welcome Darren Anderson, TxDOT’s Senior Director of Strategy and Innovation, for an inside look at how emerging technologies are influencing the future of transportation in Texas.
With leadership spanning strategic innovation, emerging technology, research initiatives, and performance analytics, Darren is at the forefront of evaluating and integrating tools that could transform everything from safety and system reliability to automated and cooperative transportation. His work across national committees and advisory groups gives him a front-row view of what’s coming next—and what it means for Texas.
This is a rare opportunity to hear how AI may shape the state’s transportation network and the industry’s role in that evolution. Don’t miss a forward-looking conversation that promises to spark ideas!
