Mission, Vision, Values

The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), the premier professional military engineering association in the United States, unites architecture, engineering construction (A/E/C), facility management and environmental entities and individuals in the public and private sectors to prepare for—and overcome—natural and manmade disasters, and to improve security at home and abroad.

Education and Training

Promote, enhance and reinforce the professional and technical competence of present and future post members through outreach, training and continuing education programs.

Relevance

Develop and conduct high-interest programs that inspire membership growth and active involvement of Post members.

Increase attendance at monthly meetings/activities 10 times per year / follow streamer criteria
Increase individual members and sustaining member firms Bring a fellow Engineer to a Post activity; publicize new Uniform and DOD Civilian Member rates; coordinate with FED CDR to promote SAME membership and attendance by USACE personnel
Increase Enlisted involvement Utilitze Senior Leaders to promote and encourage Enlisted involvement
Increase SAME involvement in FED Engineer days at DoDDs schools Coordinate with FED personnel
Scholarships Program Award minimum of one scholarship to a graduating High School student Send a Enlisted Engineer to regional/national conference Send at least one High School student to Engineer camp
Recognition

Conduct meetings with organizations that have similar goals/objectives Synchronize meetings with Society of Comptrollers. Host meetings in 2ID AO (North Chapter) and at Southern locations (Osan/USAG-H/USAG-D)
Recognize members at meetings by their professional status Prepare name tags for meetings that include POST title and professional status

Communities of Interest

SAME’s Communities of Interest offer members a chance to engage nationally with other professionals focused on a particular technical field or demographic within joint engineering and the A/E/C industry.
