Fred is the managing principal of Coffman Engineers’ Seattle office and a licensed structural engineer. He has strong ties to the northwest, having graduated from Washington State University and has worked from Coffman Engineers’ Seattle office since 2010. Fred is a strategic leader with a deep understanding of the business of engineering. Known for his collaborative approach, he works closely with clients to deliver practical and innovative solutions tailored to their specific needs.
Fred is an experienced structural engineer and multidiscipline project manager with a background that spans a diverse range of projects in the federal, retail, commercial, industrial, and residential markets, as well as involving a wide variety of building materials and structural systems. His structural engineering experience includes seismic evaluations, analysis and retrofit of existing buildings, design for new ground-up buildings, and tenant improvements.
Fred is active in the Federal/DoD market sector and is the federal lead for Coffman Engineers in Seattle. He has served on the Board of the Seattle Post of the Society of American Military Engineers since 2022, and has previously served as Treasurer, Second Vice President, and First Vice President.
Fred is a proud husband and father of two, who often coaches sports (baseball, softball, and soccer), builds Lego sets, and attends swim meets. As a self-identified “lake kid,” he spends summers at the lake with his family and enjoys outdoor activities, such as skiing, hunting, and fishing.
