About the Australian Field Chapter
The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) is a global, nonprofit professional engineering education and networking organization that actively promotes the advancement of both individual technical knowledge and the collective engineering capabilities of governments, the uniformed services, academia, and private industry.
The SAME Australia Chapter brings together members of the U.S. and Australian Defence Forces, government agencies, universities, and the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction community to strengthen cooperation and share expertise. Our mission is to foster collaboration in defence infrastructure, humanitarian assistance, disaster response, and emerging Indo-Pacific security challenges.

Our Mission
Lead collaboration in support of our national security priorities through advancing three strategic goals: Drive Partnerships, Deliver Solutions, and Develop People.
Locally, the Australia Chapter supports regular events and professional networking opportunities that feature guest speakers from military, government, academia, and broader defence industry sectors. We also participate in regional defence and industry events across the continent. These gatherings provide networking, professional development, and accredited continuing education opportunities for engineers, architects, and other professionals.
The SAME Australian Chapter is supported by the SAME Honolulu Post and the national Society of American Military Engineers, including access to publications such as The Military Engineer. Together, these resources help promote the interests and goals of our society and its members.
