On Thursday, April 25, the SAME Narragansett Bay Post is hosting the annual dinner for graduating U.S. Coast Guard Academy Cadets receiving engineering and cyber systems degrees. These Cadets spent four dedicated years in an environment that challenges them to grow as both engineers and officers. They will receive their Bachelor of Science degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering, or Cyber Systems and will commission as some of the newest Officers in the U.S. Coast Guard on May 22, 2024.
After graduation, they will go to flight school, cyber commands, marine inspection assignments, and serve as deck watch officers and student engineers onboard Coast Guard Cutters around the U.S. and deploy around the world. The keynote speaker, Rear Admiral Grable, will be offering advice and well wishes to the cadets as they depart on their first Coast Guard assignments.
