- Describe the drivers for current DOD energy initiatives and impact of local and state-level energy projects and needs
- Discuss siting and planning of energy projects on Military Installations with examples from Joint Base Andrews, Maryland
- Discuss funding approaches and potential public/private partnerships

Speaker Bio
Mohammed (Mo) Badal joined the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (OASA) for Installation, Energy, and Environment (IE&E) in April of 2024 and assumed the duties as the Program Manager for Nuclear Power. Currently, he is the Program Director for Advanced Nuclear Power for Installations for the Army. In his current capacity, he is leading a cross-functional team with members from several offices of the Secretary of Defense, Air Force, Navy, NRC, and DOE (including five national labs), exploring advanced nuclear energy sources for military installations.
