  • Describe the drivers for current DOD energy initiatives and impact of local and state-level energy projects and needs
  • Discuss siting and planning of energy projects on Military Installations with examples from Joint Base Andrews, Maryland
  • Discuss funding approaches and potential public/private partnerships

Speaker Bio

Mohammed (Mo) Badal joined the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (OASA) for Installation, Energy, and Environment (IE&E) in April of 2024 and assumed the duties as the Program Manager for Nuclear Power. Currently, he is the Program Director for Advanced Nuclear Power for Installations for the Army. In his current capacity, he is leading a cross-functional team with members from several offices of the Secretary of Defense, Air Force, Navy, NRC, and DOE (including five national labs), exploring advanced nuclear energy sources for military installations.

Presenter: Damon Hacker, President

Damon Hacker brings more than 30 years of experience in digital forensics and cybersecurity. He helps improve the techniques, processes, and technology used in cybersecurity and digital forensics within the legal process. Damon is an in-demand speaker on local, state, and national levels, frequently presenting on DoD CMMC cybersecurity compliance, IT security, IT auditing, computer fraud, white-collar crime, data breaches, non-competes, and intellectual property theft. He also consults on cybersecurity and forensics for the television industry, having provided guidance for The Blacklist, Bones, CSI: Cyber, CSI: Las Vegas, and Backstrom. Damon earned his Master of Business Administration from the Weatherhead School of Management and is a Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification – Registered Practitioner (CMMC-RP).
