The Navy aviation mission in Hampton Roads began over 100 years ago and expanded during WWII. Much of that infrastructure still supports today’s frontline forces, with sixth-generation manned and unmanned aircraft soon to operate from these airfields. Aging facilities require modernization while the mission continues uninterrupted. This presentation shares insights from an engineer and pilot on current challenges, future requirements, and industry solutions to sustain these airfields for the next 50 years.
