Human Factors in Workplace Design: Designing Spaces That Are More Naturally Human
Rebecca Horton
MillerKnoll
Connection is a basic human need. People crave a sense of security and belonging—especially at work. But connection is also complex. Maintaining a healthy, well-connected workplace within an organization requires constant evaluation, care, and adaptation. It requires not only supporting the whole individual but that individual’s interactions with others. That’s why it’s critical to consider human factors in workplace design. By providing an overview of physical, social, and cognitive ergonomics, this CEU will help participants design workplaces that are more connected and healthier for workers.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this session attendees will have a basic understanding of:
- physical ergonomics, cognitive ergonomics, social ergonomics, and
- how to design spaces that are more connected and humanly centered.
