On September 17, 2025, the Baltimore Post gathered for a workshop and dinner event at the historic Engineer’s Club in downtown Baltimore, all centered on “Powering the Mission and Future Military Installations.” The energy was high as Kristofer Zimmerman from Marstel-Day led the workshop, introducing new tools and strategies designed to tackle the challenges of energy balance faced by installations, cities, and communities worldwide.
Afterward, guests enjoyed a networking session and a delicious dinner. The Post revived its tradition of having longstanding members introduce new faces at every table, creating connections both old and new!
The evening reached its peak with presentations by Mr. William Burris from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Mr. Mohamed Badal, Program Director at the Office of Energy Initiatives, Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Army (Energy and Sustainability). Their inspiring talks shed light on the latest innovations and ongoing challenges in advancing microgrids to energize our military installations.
A thank you goes out to our speakers—Mr. Kristofer Zimmerman, Mr. Bill Burris, and Mr. Mohamed Badal—as well as to all our members who joined us and made the event so memorable!
