The Pittsburgh Post provides support to the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies on a recurring basis throughout the year. Specifically, the Cemetery staff can use assistance around the following Holidays to raise and lower the Flags along the Avenue of Heroes.
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day (July 4th)
- National Day of Service (September 11th)
- Veterans Day (November 11th)
Our Post has been directly supporting the Cemetery and their mission for well over a decade now. We were one of the first organizations to provide a steady stream of volunteers after they had identified a need for volunteer assistance (with everything from flag raising, headstone maintenance, and other general assistance), and that’s something we should all be very proud of!
