Advancing Discussions at Capital Week
At SAME Capital Week, March 24-26, a trio of ongoing topics will take center stage, continuing robust industry-government collaboration that has been advancing awareness around them over the past several months.
On March 24, SAME will present a pair of workshops—AI in the Federal A/E/C Sector; and NDAA & Procurement: Change is Coming.
- While artificial intelligence is increasingly becoming part of the project delivery conversation, practical adoption remains uneven, cautious, and often opaque. While some organizations are experimenting to improve efficiency, decision-making, and delivery, many leaders still grapple with questions around security, compliance, data governance, and where the technology can realistically be applied within constraints and risk thresholds.
- Similarly, changes to federal acquisition regulations and the recently signed 2026 defense bill are creating a fluid sector, heavily focused on spurring innovation, speeding up capability development, and attracting non-traditional contractors. Notable updates also include increased use of design-build approaches and multi-year contracting to save costs and improve planning for military construction.
On March 26, SAME will hold the latest in its Mega Series on Sentinel, the generational infrastructure investment supporting the U.S. Air Force. The program is expected to be in operation, once completed, through 2075. SAME has established a multi-part discussion around Sentinel to help ensure that industry leaders and agency stakeholders are informed of opportunities, timelines, and expectations for the $100 billion decades-long undertaking.
