The Society of American Military Engineers offers a very unique series of engineering camps designed for High School students who excel in math, science and technical courses and are interested in pursuing engineering in college. These one–week camps are high energy, hands–on events for students from across the country and around the world. The camps are led by a professional staff of engineers from both private industry and the military services. These exciting week–long camps take place during the summer months in a variety of settings—centered on a military base in the colorful Colorado Rockies, the beautiful Southern California Coast, the historic Mississippi Valley.

Pikes Peak Post Boy Scout Engineering Merit Badge
The Engineering Merit Badge day gives Boy Scouts an opportunity to complete all the requirements necessary to earn the Boy Scout Engineering Merit Badge in one day in the United States Air Force Academy. This event is held each Fall for all boy scouts interested in earning the badge. This event is structured to meet all of Boy Scouts of Americas requirements and is run by Boy Scout leaders to ensure we are meeting the standards for Boy Scouts.
The Young Women’s STEM day is a mirror event to the Boy Scout day except it is for young ladies. This day at the United States Air Force Academy introduces the participants to careers in engineering. The event further introduces careers in multiple STEM fields beyond engineering. The young ladies participate in multiple hands on stations where they work with lasers, rockets, telescopes, building materials and much more to give them the tools to help them make more informed career decision about opportunities in engineering and STEM fields. For information, Todd Cartwright, STEM Chair.
SAME reaches out to connect with many schools in the CO area to provide STEM personnel for classroom engagement, judging for science fairs and STEM competitions and support. Our objective is form long term relationships with school and teacher.
The Technology Student Association fosters personal growth, leadership, and opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM); members apply and integrate these concepts through co-curricular activities, competitions, and related programs. SAME members provide support by judging and hosting competitions.
In support of professional development of teachers, SAME offers positions at our STEM Camps to serve as a Mentors, working with professional engineers to conduct a wide variety of STEM events, gaining first-hand knowledge of engineering activities and long term relationships. Contact Scott Prosuch if interested. A stipend may be available.
Communities of Interest
SAME’s Communities of Interest offer members a chance to engage nationally with other professionals focused on a particular technical field or demographic within joint engineering and the A/E/C industry.
