Feb 3-5, 2020 – FALL PROTECTION “CP” COMPETENT PERSON PER EM385 – Includes Certificate

(Completing this course will support worker compliance with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Contractor Safety and Health Requirements. EM 385-1-1 compliance is required by all contractors working on military contracts and projects. There will be a pass/fail exam at the end of the course in order to qualify for the certificate of completion.)


Course Description

This training is designed to provide the attendee with the knowledge needed to meeting the OSHA and ANSI requirements for a fall protection competent person. This EM385-specific training also provides the specific training and information needed for compliance with the latest EM385 standards.

This course includes both classroom training following NVL’s course materials supplemented with videos and power point presentations. A hands-on component is also included to meet the requirements of the newest EM385/OSHA regulations and to give the attendees the opportunity to practice and reinforce the skills learned in the classroom. Attendees will learn how to apply knowledge and equipment discussed during the course to practical situations they might encounter in the field. The course is a pass/fail program and will include both hands-on components as well as a final written exam.

(Attending this class qualifies for 35 training hours required to take the (Project Management Professional) PMP Exam. Class prepares for taking the exam and for how to complete the application required to qualify to take the PMP Exam.)

     PM-ProLearn recently became an approved vendor for the new U.S. Army Credentialing Assistance (CA) program which will go live Army-wide on 1 Jan 2020. The Army CA program provides full funding to Soldiers of all ranks to attend professional certification training, like the PMP, and it also covers

     the exam fee. It is important to note that since PM-ProLearn provides the exam free with our training, there is no payback for Soldiers if they fail the exam. They only have to complete our course, so there is no financial risk to the individual Soldier for pursuing their PMP credential with PM-ProLearn.



Early 2020 - Lighting Protection & Grounding

Tuesday - Courses 0800 to 1700 (Bonding & Grounding - 90 Minutes, Ground Testing 101 - 45 minutes, ANSI/TIA 607  C Standard Introduction Generic Telecommunications Bonding and Grounding for Customer Premises - 4 hours)

Wednesday - Courses 0800 to 1700 (Wireless Site - Grounding & Bonding  - 2 hours, Lightning Protection Installation Training - 16 to 20 hours (Phase 1))

Thursday - Courses 0800 to 1700 (Lightning Protection Installation Training - 16 to 20 hours (Phase 2), Lighting Protection System Design - 60 minutes)

The SAME is a 501c (3) educational and science organization. All event proceeds will support SAME Japan Post’s symposium venue costs, scholarship program, construction camps, and youth outreach programs for American and Okinawa students pursuing their education in engineering or architecture.
