Federal government contractors face a bevy of regulations regarding the compensation owed to employees. Construction and engineering companies, in particular, must comply with the Davis-Bacon Act. However, these rules are changing in a major way. On March 18, 2022, the Department of Labor’s Wage & Hour Division published a proposed rule titled “Updating the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts Regulations (DBRA)”. The released document is over 400 pages long with 50 regulatory provisions and is the first comprehensive regulatory review of the DBRA in over 40 years.
