NEPA is entering a new era—and environmental professionals must be prepared to adapt. Since 1970, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) has guided federal environmental decision-making, but recent policy changes and evolving national priorities are reshaping the process. What do these changes mean for environmental professionals, engineers, project proponents, and federal agencies? Join us as we explore the changing NEPA landscape and share practical insights for navigating what lies ahead.
The program kicks off with “NEPA Made Easy,” an interactive workshop offering practical guidance and PDH certifications. Following networking and dinner, keynote speaker Peyton Doub, Senior Environmental Scientist with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and NEPA practitioner since 1989, will present “NEPA: Past, Present, and Future.” Drawing on decades of experience, Peyton will examine NEPA’s evolution, emerging trends, and the future of environmental review, including the balance between efficient project delivery, environmental stewardship, and meaningful public engagement.
