Frederick Water partnered with Burns & McDonnell through a collaborative design-build process to develop a treatment solution that supports rapid service area growth and long-term water security. The project conveys water from a nearby creek to an existing microfiltration plant while upgrading treatment to handle both a new surface water source and groundwater from a quarry reservoir with elevated total dissolved solids (TDS) and sulfate, providing flexibility as water quality changes over time.
