From Vision to Reality: Building a First-of-Its-Kind Reservoir for Ecosystem Restoration

Twenty years. Twelve thousand acres. One transformative vision for Florida’s environment.

Join Richard LeBlanc, PE, LEED AP, for a behind-the-scenes look at the C-44 Reservoir and Stormwater Treatment Area Project—a major investment in protecting the St. Lucie Estuary.

Designed to reduce nutrient loading, the project brings together a 50,000-acre-foot above-ground reservoir, a high-capacity pump station, and more than 6,000 acres of stormwater treatment areas to store and treat stormwater runoff.

Explore the engineering challenges, construction complexities, and partnerships that helped move this ambitious restoration project from concept to reality—and the lessons learned along the way.Join us to learn how two decades of planning and collaboration brought this vision to life.
