About the Event
Join the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) San Juan Field Chapter for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the ongoing Hurricane MARIA Rebuild Project at U.S. Coast Guard Base and Air Station Borinquen in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. This in-person event will include guided site visits showcasing the significant reconstruction efforts to enhance resiliency and utility infrastructure, followed by a relaxed networking social at the base’s Community Center and Pelican Bar & Grill.
Event Schedule
- 1500: Arrival at Base Borinquen / Air Station Borinquen
- 1505 – 1530: Tour the ongoing Hurricane MARIA Rebuild Construction Project – Hangar Facilities (Utility Upgrades / Resiliency Improvements)
- 1535 – 1555: Tour the ongoing Hurricane MARIA Rebuild Construction Project– Coast Guard Exchange Property (Utility Upgrades/Resiliency Improvements)
- 1600 – 1700: Tour the ongoing Hurricane MARIA Rebuild Construction Project– Housing Property (New UPH, New Housing Units, New Community Services Building, New Water Towers, Utility Upgrades/Resiliency Improvements)
- 1700 – 2200: Dinner & Evening Social at the Base Community Center, Pelican Bar and Grill
