Awards & Recognition

SAME annually presents medals and awards to individuals and organizations from the public and private sectors in recognition of achievement in support of the A/E/C profession, national security objectives, and the SAME Strategic Plan. Since 1948, SAME also has awarded an Award of Merit bronze medal to outstanding junior and senior ROTC students. These recipients are selected through a central military service board for the Army, Navy and Air Force Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Programs.

Nominations for the SAME Awards & Recognition Program are generally due around the end of January each year. The small business awards are due in October for presentation at SAME’s Small Business Conference. Several awards and medals are presented on behalf of the uniformed services. Nominations and voting for these awards is handled internally through each service.

The majority of the awards are presented at SAME’s Joint Engineering Training Conference & Expo, which is held each May. To view a list of all the awards, nominating guidelines, and past recipients, click on a link below.
