Academy of Fellows to Invest 26 New Members in 2023

The SAME Academy of Fellows has selected the new members who will be invested in the Fellows Class of 2023, during the 2023 Fellows Investiture, which will be held at JETC in San Antonio, May 2-4. The AOF Executive Committee made the selections in December, and then they were ratified by the SAME National President, Cindy Lincicome, F.SAME, who was a member of the Fellows Class of 2017.

This year, a total of 26 SAME members will become Fellows, joining the more than 800 members of the Academy of Fellows. While SAME has bestowed the title of Fellow on select members since 1973, in 1995 an academy was formally established to recognize those who have rendered dedicated and outstanding service to the Society, to military engineering, and to the A/E/C profession.

During the ceremony in May, the Academy of Fellows also will honor this year’s recipient of the Gerald C. Brown Mentoring Award, which is given annually to a member of the Academy for outstanding mentoring efforts, and recognize the two individuals who have been newly named Distinguished Fellows in 2023, both former SAME National Presidents: Col. John Mogge Jr., Ph.D., RA, F.SAME (Dist.), USAF (Ret.); and Col. Sal Nodjomian, P.E., F.SAME (Dist.), USAF (Ret.). This year, the Academy of Fellows Golden Eagle Awards also will be presented at JETC, during the Society Ball & Awards Gala.
