2026 SAME National Leadership Nominations for President-Elect, Vice President, and Elected Director will be open October 1!
Each fall, SAME members have an important opportunity to nominate the next slate of national leadership candidates who are poised to lead the Society into the future.
Starting Oct. 1, nominations are being accepted for the following elected positions on the National Leadership Assembly:
- President-Elect
- Vice President
- Elected Director
The deadline to submit a nomination, or self-nominate, is Dec. 1, 2026. Nominations will be reviewed by nominating committees, with selected candidates then put on the ballot in the spring for the 2027 SAME National Elections. What Types of Leaders is SAME Looking For?
As part of the annual nominating process, each year the SAME President provides guidance highlighting the key characteristics and qualifications they feel the Society will need in its leaders to ensure SAME continues to thrive in the years ahead. SAME President Ben Matthews, P.E., F.SAME, has provided a letter to the membership detailing what the Society is looking for in prospective national leadership candidates.
